We do not customise a pre-made suit. Your suit is cut from a piece
of cloth that we have made by analysing your body shape. Furthermore,
the tailor has used his skill, experience and expertise to imagine
the suit on you while he takes his notes. This allows him to adjust
any measurements accordingly as well as advice on what style and cut
suit will suit you. Indeed the cut, style, colour and number of buttons
are all chosen by you. The suit is therefore to your own exact specifications.
A Retail store carries a standard inventory and that's all they can
offer you. Whenever you buy a suit from a retail store you are
always buying 'off the rack.' and the styles that appeal to the
mass market.
For example an 'off the peg jacket' from a shop will
come in 2 options of chest size (e.g. 38'') and the overall
size (e.g.
short , regular or long). At Dominique Aluko we take over 15 measurements:
as well as the chest we measure the arms, stomach, neck, shoulders,back
and front length and a unique 'fitting' measurement that ensures that
the jacket is nearly fitted to flatter your body. Further more, 'off
the peg jackets' increase in size 2 inches at a time. That is an enormous
5 centimetres between each size.
At Dominique Aluko you actually be wearing a suit that not only fits
you but have the upper hand in choosing your own style and fabric of
preference. We only use the best English, Italian wools and Linen for
suits. |
